JOHANNA ROBERTSON BARRISTER AND MEDIATOR


Johanna qualified in 1985 in New Zealand and worked and lived overseas, mainly in the United Kingdom until 2004. She is a qualified UK Solicitor and Children’s Panel Member. Whilst in the UK Johanna worked with the multiple award winning family lawyer – Peggy Ray at Goodman Ray Solicitors. She also gained a MA in Children’s Observational Studies at the Tavistock Clinic – one of the most significant institutions in the world dealing with the psychology of children and families.  Since her return, Johanna has had a general practice and is a Lawyer for Child as well as a qualified mediator.

BRINTYN SMITH BARRISTER


Brintyn worked previously for the Ministry of Social Development, as Counsel for the Chief Executive (CYFS now MVCOT) and as a Departmental Prosecutor. In those capacities, he has acquired extensive experience in Family, Youth and District Courts. Brintyn is a keen negotiator and excels at litigation.

His personal interests are in complex care of children and domestic violence matters, relocation and care and protection matters. He also has a special interest in international relocation matters involving children. He prides himself on being a pragmatic, solutions-focused negotiator, particularly when it comes to matters involving children.

Brintyn is a Legal Aid lead provider and is currently accepting referrals.

Carolyn has worked in the Family Law sector for approximately 18 years, having worked for various Family Law Barristers and law firms. Carolyn also previously worked at the Family Court as a Case Manager for 3 years.

Carolyn is highly organised and is very responsive to clients and brings a professionalism and good humour to the team.
